About Miller Street Dance Academy

Building character, confidence, and community through dance since 1994.

Our Mission

Miller Street Dance Academy was built on the belief that dance education should be both high-quality and uplifting. Our mission goes beyond technique—we strive to shape well-rounded individuals who develop a deep love for dance while excelling in academics and embracing the value of community service.

Our classes are diverse, age-appropriate, and engaging, ensuring every student grows in multiple genres of dance while having fun along the way. Just as important as choreography and performance, we emphasize life skills: respect for self and others, teamwork, and giving back to the community.

At Miller Street, we aim to inspire confident, compassionate dancers who carry what they learn in the studio into every aspect of their lives.

How It All Began

Miller Street Dance Academy was founded by Michelle Soutier in 1994 with just 21 students under the name Enchanting Dancers. Located on a quaint street in Pineville, NC called "Miller Street," the studio quickly outgrew both its space and its name.

In 1998, Michelle relocated to the Tower Place shopping center, carrying a piece of her history forward as Miller Street Dance Academy.

By 2003, the studio found its ideal home at the corner of Providence Road and Ardrey Kell in the heart of South Charlotte. Enrollment flourished as families discovered the studio's stellar reputation and the impressive accomplishments of Miller Street dancers both in the studio and beyond.
